As one of the most prominent hair stylists within the fashion industry, Guido Palau boasts an extensive client portfolio that includes luxury labels such as Prada, Balenciaga, Marc Jacobs, Ralph Lauren, Saint Laurent and Versace. The designer, who launched his career working on ‘90s music video Freedom with supermodels such as Naomi Campbell, Christy Turlington and Cindy Crawford, is oft cited as one of the busiest catwalk stylists during fashion season, working on average 30 shows per season.

Regularly credited for sparking hair trends that are studiously followed by industry insiders, Pulau was signed by Redken as a creative consultant in 2005 and in 2009 was included in the British Fashion Council’s list of ‘25 Most Powerful People in the Fashion Industry’.

Palau began his career in hair-dressing in the early eighties, working in Vidal Sassoon in London. Following his dismissal from the salon, Palau worked at several other salons around London before realising his big break with George Michael. In the early ‘90s, working alongside photographer David Sims, Palau began to see his work featured in irreverent fashion publication The Face, capturing the attention of designer Calvin Klein who hired the duo to affect the grunge look in his upcoming advertising campaigns featuring Kate Moss and James King. Klein also booked the rising hair stylist to work on his 1994 fashion showcase and soon after secured engagements with clients such as Versace. The talented stylist also boasted a long-standing working relationship with the late designer Alexander McQueen, producing many of the theatrical hair designs shown on his catwalks.

Regularly working alongside David Sims, Palau has collaborated on several editorials and covers for fashion publications such as Harper’s Bazaar, Industrie, Interview, Wand American Vogue. The stylist also regularly works alongside photographers such as Steven Meisel and Craig McDean.
